IT’S OK TO NOT BE OK

Recently we started our Job Search Challenge and we began with a set of questions.

One of the questions was a simple one:

“Are there any comments/guidance/advice you’d like to know at this stage?”

One reply stood out. It simply said:

“Can we talk?”

We received over 200 replies yesterday, and it would have been easy to say “I’m too busy”.

I called them.

The person is not OK. They are far from OK. We spoke for nearly two hours.

It was an unplanned, and unscheduled call. I missed commitments; I didn’t hit a deadline.

But that’s OK. Because in those two hours we helped one person.

And that’s life in 2020 – one person at a time, one day at a time, one job application at a time.

And today, we go again. We learned some more about this situation.

After that call, I cried.

And that’s OK too. But they felt better, we discussed new ideas, new ways to help them.

They felt better. That’s a win, right?

If you don’t feel ok, then please, go talk to someone.

If you need help with your job search, we can be here for you too.
